Rebranding Kulturnatten
Primary Mark
Kulturnatten (Culture Night), the annual night out in Copenhagen kicks off the fall break with hundreds of unique cultural events for all ages. A. purchase of a Kulturpas (Culture Pass) grants attendees access to free public transportation, dining, performances, and galleries throughout the night.
To see the city in a new way, each year a local artist is commissioned to add their personal touch to Kulturnatten’s communication. As a class project, I was tasked to create my own visual identity for Kulturnatten 2024 as well as a new logotype and visual language.
The Simple Pleasures
The basis of culture is all of the individual moments of care, intention, and artistic expression that come together to unite a community. The identity is meant to inspire carefree creativity, a family-friendly atmosphere, and reflect Danish appreciation of the simple pleasures in life like community and light.
By combining the look of handcrafts and children’s coloring with contemporary typography to suit the needs of a large public event the campaign maintains the joy of Kulturnatten’s small moments.

These alternative marks show the ability of the typography to be transformed by color and texture.
Poster Series
Each poster represents the importance of light, community outreach, and small moments. Symbolized by fireworks, candles, and an explosion of culture.
Animated Instagram Post and Digital Ticket
The fluttering of a single snowflake and the changing phases of the moon represent the simple pleasures of the time of year as Kulturnatten is usually during a fall break.
